Strickland Farms, NJ
Strickland Farms is located in the beautiful county of Monmouth New Jersey in Freehold Township. The area was first sighted by John Cabot in 1498, but soon became home to English and Scottish settlers that recognized the beauty of the area. It was one of the three original townships established in Monmouth County over three centuries ago. Freehold Township has an abundance of parks and recreational activities for residences and visitors. There are 14 different parks that offer a variety of activities from play grounds, athletic fields, and nature trails, to a skate park and a splash pad. There are picnic areas that are open to the public and available for reservation for private events. The township offers many year-round recreational activities as well. There are programs available for all ages and skill levels. Irish Week welcomes the approach of spring in Freehold. This year it is to be held on March 11 and 12 in downtown Freehold. Another major event to note is the Independence Day Concert and Fireworks held at Freehold Raceway. This family friendly events hosts over 20,000 people annually.
